Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone using a tire pressure monitoring system on their RV, TT or tow vehicle? If so, which one are you using?

I am looking at the EEZTire Tire Pressure Monitoring System - 6 Sensors (TPMS) (https://www.amazon.com/EEZTire-Tire-...itoring+system) and wanted to get some feedback before I shell out $300.

I know I am late with a comment but that is the system I use and am pleased with it. It has saved by bacon several time. I have not damaged a trailer with a blowout since I installed it. This is the third trailer and truck that I have used it on. I find the pass through senors are too big and bulky, plus it seems like they restrict air passing through them when you want to add air. I find it easier to just remove the button sensor, add air and reinstall.

I always use a TPMS.

Have had three different brands. It seems they all use the same electronics modules.

The only problem with a longer trailer is you need a booster to get the signal into the truck.

I do not use the pass through attachments. Like above, just unscrew the cap when you need to add air. No, I don't use the little lock rings either. Yes, I have had to replace a module when I broke it, $25 at the time. I use the battery types. The batteries last a bit over 6 months if used a lot, a year or more if not used very much (most turn 'off' if the tires are not moving).

Make sure you have all metal valve stems to mount them on.

For me the TPMS is a requirement (as is an EMS) and while I’m always eager to find a low price on things I buy, there are certain things I don’t go “cheap” on. My TPMS came from Minder Research. I’m not familiar with EEZTire but if you find it gets good reviews you’ll probably be happy with it. If it saves your bacon just once you’ll feel like you got it at a GREAT price. Mine has come through twice.

Been using EEZ TPMS for several years now - no complaints on this brand. Installed on our 2015 and transferred to 2018 Greyhawk. Only issue was we needed to order 30° bend valve extenders due to back dually hubcaps interfering with monitor unit. Seneca has aluminum rims so don't think this would be an issue for you.

Forgive my ignorance and please do not laugh but what is an EMS?

Just to clarify, is this something that goes between where you plug in to campground power and the RV to act as surge protection?

I use the EezTire T515 system and it functions just great. I have 10 sensors (6 for RV and 4 for TOAD) the neat part is when we take of with toad I just bring the monitor with us and we can monitor the tires while exploring. As for cost I can give you a reality check! Before we got our TPS we had a blow out on the toad. I saw it right away and pulled over and stopped. That blow out did $5000.00 damage to the toad. What do you think it would cost on your RV? Just wish we had one before the blow out. That is my opinion for what it's worth.

And to get back on topic I use the EEZ Tire TPMS and they work very well.

Vicr beat me to it. I have owned 2 EMS units, both from Progressive.

Thanks everyone for all your help on the EMS and tire pressure monitoring system. I ended up purchasing the following items:

EEZTire Tire Pressure Monitoring System - 6 Sensors (TPMS) (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009BEGV6S...BIFATO3Z&psc=0). I also purchased 4 more sensors for the TOAD.

Progressive Industries HW50C Hardwired EMS Surge & Electrical Protection- 50 Amps (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
