Toilet Recommendations

A previous owner of our TT replaced the toilet with a Dometic 210. Everything works fine other than the original toilet required two bolts to attach the floor and this one requires four. Because of the way the floor flange is positioned, only two bolts on the 210 are attached. The PO then used to lag bolts to bolt the back of the toilet to the floor.

As a result, if someone bigger than a toddler sits down, the toilet rocks back and leaks out the front. I've replaced the gasket between the toilet and the floor with no luck. I'm going to try to shim up the back of the toilet to make it more stable, but if that doesn't work I'm probably going to be in the market for a new toilet.

Any recommendations or are they all about the same.

Thanks in advance.

I replaced the original round toilet with the Dometic 320. It is elongated and that was my biggest reason for the change.

My flange has 4 lag bolts that hold it down and then the 2 bolts that mount the toilet to the flange.

Your saying your flange should have 4 bolts but only has 2? And your toilet needs 4 but only has 2 and then 2 lag bolts? That's hard for me to picture.

Are you saying your flange is not correct for the toilet? If that is the case, can you not find the correct flange?

If I am understanding your problem, and I am not 100% sure I am, are you sure if you replace the toilet you won't have the same issue with the new toilet?

Can you post a picture of what the PO did and the current setup/bolts?

Dometic is the only toilet to look at. 310 is the standard size and direct replacement for most china bowl brands and 320 is elongated. DO NOT think about getting a thetford Aqua flood 2. as these toilets have big fail rates and flooded campers.

Does anyone know if the Dometic 320 will fit into my 2014 Flight 26BH? It has the original toilet that came with it. Can I replace it myself? I'm kinda handy.

Since I don't have a 28BH I can't say for sure, but I would highly suspect that it will fit. The only way to tell is to go on the Dometic website and download the installation manual. I believe there is a minimum measurement that shows you how far from the wall you have to be to the center of the pipe flange. It was really easy to replace this. Just a hose fitting on the back of the toilet and the two bolts that hold the toilet to the flange.

Be sure to measure before you buy. The 320 would NOT fit our Eagle, and there was just enough room in the Pinnacle.
