TV in the RV
I've heard that any TV that you purchase for use in an RV should be made for RV use as they are built to withstand shaking, vibration, that is associated with RV travel. Is there any truth to this or will an off the shelf TV, i.e., Insignia, be suffice? I do not plan to use on DC power.
TIA

We got the cheapest AC/DC TV. It is not mounted. Its a 19 inch Axess
For the first three years it sat in its OEM box with styrofoam in the closet when on the road. So it got jounced a lot
Now it has its own cuddy as the box wore out.
Look at the miles we have had. Lots are on unpaved roads
I think you were fed a line.

We have a couple of Walmart LED specials in our TT. I'm not sure of the brand. Seven years and they are going strong. We leave them in through the winter. too.

Ditto for us.
For our 26BH trailer, I got an Isignia 32" television. Insignia is Best Buy's house brand. I either run it on AC, or through a little 75 watt inverter.
I probably have 10,000 miles on it at this point with zero problems.

Believe me, the TVs furnished with these trailers are nothing special, although on some build sheets the price listed would lead one to believe they are.

I was always wondering about the effects of freezing cold temperatures on TV’s that stay out in the cold all winter in northern climates. I would never store an expensive TV in my shed or garage, but I certainly can’t remove them from the RV. Any thoughts?

There's a good chance TVs get into freezing conditions all the time in transit from China, in shipping by trucks to the stores and delivery by UPS/Fedex. The circuits can handle it.

There shipped in super cold weather all the time. I would not be concerned, about winter storage.

We store ours in the TT all winter and have for five years. We live in Maine inland.
Today is a warm winter day it is 22 F.

What I was told by an A/V guy is that cold doesn't bother them, the moisture from humidity is what eventually kills a TV left outdoors. So far the LG we have on our deck has lasted 5 years so..

Back in the days of "Tube" TVs, there was probably some validity to the argument for "Special RV TVs. But now, everything is solid-state and any LED TV will work. I don't think a plasma TV would work, however (if they even still make them). They are very sensitive to rough handling.
The original TV in my rig lasted about 2-1/2 years. I replaced it with a Visio from Walmart, and it's been working fine for over 4 years. Just pick the one that fits into your budget and has the best picture and features you like.

We replaced the crap, er, stock TV in our Greyhawk with a Costco deal on a smart TV and are much happier. Since I carry a hot spot with us for WiFi, we can stream HBO, Netflix, local channels and if there is no Cell service for the hot spot, I can set up our Dish satellite for 'content'.
And I agree, cold should not be an issue for the minimal electronics in a TV.

FYI, it was a TCL model, made by Roku, which is one of the makers of streaming set top boxes and has lots of content and functionality.

I had to replace to original TV in my 2016 Jatco while traveling. Tho issue I had ,was, the screws that attach to the wall mount were much smaller,AND,the holes did not align. I believe it was just a manufacturer differance. That was in 2017 ,and we have traveled all over the USA ,hot and cold,no issue. Buy what you like, just know that if its a replacement, your bracket MAY? need some changing
