TV picture is too big for screen

My RCA television picture is too big for the screen, I can't see ballgame scores etc. I have tried every setting on the planet, even reset the tv but the screen size may get bigger and smaller but the scores still are off the picture if that makes sense.

Btw I tried to search but> The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search: tv, too, big

so I was left with the word picture in my search.

Is this an LCD or an old CRT? LCD TVs will automatically adjust the picture to fit. If not there is a menu option to change the aspect ratio.

Not all LCDs adjust.
One of 3 things:
1) Zoom settings on the TV.
2) Aspect ratio settings on the TV.
3) On the receiver side (satellite/DVR/Cable) the same settings may be available. And there may be a setting for "screen resolution"

95% it's one of these things. If you've gone through the aspect and zoom settings on the TV, I'd look at the receiver.

How is the receiver connected to the TV? By what type of cable?

If you are using a satellite receiver and dish you can adjust the "aspect ratio" in the receiver under the high definition settings.

Also note that HD and SD channels will have different settings. The above steps should resolve your problem Use the "*" astreck setting [bottom left on mine] that is marked Format. It will toggle you thru the various screen settings based on HD or SD whichever you have selected at the time.

Aspect ratio makes the screen smaller, goes from Waterglass, cinema, full, normal, but It doesn't make it so I can see the scores on ballgames and the things scrolling across the bottom of the screen on the news stations.

It's just on air tv so no cable boxes. The zoom button doesn't do anything when I hit it so maybe that's what's broken. It's a 32" lcd (I think) 2011ish RCA tv that came in the camper.

It is hooked up to the Jensen entertainment center but It's just on air tv.

Thanks!!

That's probably the issue, because you are just on air, the channels that are filmed in HD but broadcast in SD will not convert. No adjustment will change that, to see those channels you have to be receiving in HD Digital, such as from a satellite receiver.

Some cable systems will prove this, as with their local news companies that broadcast in both SD and HD, the SD channel will not show the entire screen, the HD channel will be broadcast completely and correctly
