WH drain plug

It's dripping, about one drop a minute. Messy and annoying. A new plug didn't stop it. Can't use an oversized plug like on an oil pan. Any harm in trying silicon plumber tape? Other ideas?

Plumber tape should take care of it.

Inspect the threads carefully. Over-tightening the drain plug can crack those threads. Teflon tape or pipe dope on the threads may help.

X2. I've used the tape and it works fine.
