What do you lube your steps with?

I've been using dry lube with PTFE on my steps but the pivot points are getting rusty and not moving easily. So last night I used WD-40 which loosened them and work well but makes a mess. Anything better to use on the step pivot points to prevent rust and make less of a mess?

I have been using silicone spray for the steps, stabilizers, hitch lock, antenna gears, tank valves and many other things mainly because it doesn’t attract dust/dirt.

On my 2017 I use what Kwikee recommends which is Kwik lube. Is sprays on like an oil, then the lighter elements evaporate which leaves a grease like coating. I only use it cause that's what they advise, maybe silicone would be better I don't know.

I've been using Blaster's Chain & Cable lube but am going to try the WD-40 Spray & Stay.

I think no matter what, the key is a lubricant that dries, or doesn't stay wet on the steps, or anything else. Anything that stays wet will get dirt stuck to it and prematurely wear. That said though, lots of products out there that do the same thing. Take your pick.
