Where do I find an operators manual?

I am still a little glassy eyed but I just finished reading the owners manual. It references the operators manual for more details on the AC system and proper inspection of the serviceable seals.

Does it come with your warranty packet or is their another source?

With mine there was the Jayco owners manual and then separate manuals for all the appliances, a/c, converter, furnace etc.

If you didn't get them they are available online if you go to the manufacturer's web site and have the model #.

Also check the manuals section of the forum. Some are downloaded there.

Sometimes I wonder if I am on the same website as yall. I see no manuals section and the Jayco website has nothing but the owners manuals.

I have not heard of an operators manual, just the owners manual.

The Owners Manual's on the Jayco site are the generic manuals for the model trailer only. As others have mentioned, manuals for specific appliances and how to operate them should have been delivered with the trailer. If not, the manufacturers website is the best place to look

LOL. Don't worry, sometimes we wonder if the new members can read! On the HOME page, there is a bar at the top. the last one says MANUALS. As already stated it is not a complete list.

The Jayco provided manuels are very generic. That's just the way they all are. If you want and don't have more detailed info, go to the manufacturer's site that made the specific item.

I can not believe I am the only one that has read the owner's manual.

Section 9

Roof Mount Air Conditioning.

DO NOT over tighten these bolts as it may damage this gasket. The air conditioner gasket is a wearable part that eventually will need to be replaced. To gain access to the bolts, remove the filtered panel cover on central air systems or the entire air box on non-central air conditioners. Consult the manufacturer’s operators manual or your RV dealer for more information.

Lots of time to read and learn as much as I can until I pick up my TT.

Yes I read my owners manual.
I believe I explained in post #2 that there are separate manuals for the individual appliances such as AC.

So determine who manufactured your AC and then go to THEIR website and download a manual. If you want to be helpful you can then upload it to this site here: Jayco RV Owners Forum - Manuals

Anyone know the model number? Maybe someone with a 338?

I guess it makes sense that there is not a Service\Operator's Manual for the individual models like you would for your car.

RV Comfort\Airxcel

Type "Installation" in the search box.

Installation Instructions

I believe there was some confusion in this thread in that members assumed you had possession of the trailer and therefore possession of the manuals. In viewing your signature it shows your trailer is on order so I can see why you would be looking for the manuals and trying to be well informed before delivery. I hope you can find the info you are looking for , it may be hard to get exact model types and numbers until you get your unit.

As I understand it, Jayco, like other RV mfgs are basically converters. It is as if they went to Costco and bought a bunch of appliances, engines, chassis, etc. and simply cobbled them together based on their vision of what an RV dream looks like to them.

Each of the pieces would come with its own manual from each separate mfg and one from the converter/Jayco as well. If you start with that principle the rest follows.

When something doesn't work or you want to know how it works, or you want a part, you may have to figure out who the originator of the specific product was. It is amazing that the dealers know as much and as little as they know, and same for Jayco.

It seems one of the purposes of a forum like this is to educate beginners to the realities of their dreams. Maybe this forum needs a beginners manual to help new dreamers get up to speed as some of these discussions endlessly rehash the same things, but then some may argue it is really all about building a social group, not being efficient!

I guess that is also a partial explanation why so many new RVs are sold. Being I'm in the hunt for a used RV, I'm certainly thankful for the environment I find myself thrust into.

Count me as one of those who was confused. All the product manuals were provided me when I took delivery of my 5er. (I should have looked at the original question ).

The owners manual is pretty good and if one did not know any better, would be sufficient. But, because of this forum, and others like it, one learns what to look for and to check.

The manual could use some clarification in some areas but its not that bad. I have seen a lot worse. In fact, most of the manual references the warranty packet. The one section I was interested in did not.

It would be nice if there was a service manual provided by Jayco. I understand it would be a documentation nightmare.

I hope the same goes for me. We have never had an RV before. And we are taking delivery in the middle of January where tryout conditions are....interesting ( read below zero with snow.)

I have owned 2 new rigs and they came with a fat pack of owners manual and a manufacturers pamphlet on the appliances, slide out equipment, jacks, etc.

No way you can absorb it all but is there and for many it too will be generic info.

Make sure you keep it together as a future resource. I bought a used rig before that and the previous owner had it all in a binder, which was a huge help.
