Where do those wires go

So, all you owners who have a "solar ready" option on your RV who knows where those wires go? What are they hooked up to? What is the plug called, is it standard? What's the max capacity, could I hook up 400W of solar panels using this pre-wired option. Does pre-wired mean no holes required in my new roof?

Chime in those in the know!

I don't know much about the locations of the wires. I think the wires they use are for a pretty small setup. Maybe 200 watts? You need a large gauge wire to carry down to the battery bank. If not you loose too much energy on the way to the batteries.
You could try a search on this site for more information. I know there is a bunch on solar.
Good luck!

Go Power connections are limited to 20 amps or about 200watts of panels.

Not sure how they are wired. Maybe someone with a GoPower Manual can chime in.

I assume they are wired straight to the battery since there is no solar charger supplied by the factory. If you have a second connection, I assume it is independent of the roof prep.

From what I understand (don't have a trailer yet, ordered last week), the wiring is 8 ga (still kind of light) and it terminates somewhere near the battery. The wires won't be hooked up to anything. They are just there for you to use to hook up to your own supplied charge controller and panels.

Once I get my fiver I intend to confirm wire size, routing and length of run. Knowing length of run, I'll see what voltage drop is and that will define max current that it will handle. I'm guessing it will be 200 to 300 watts max.

I'll also look to see if the factory wires can be used to pull thicker gauge wires I their place and use the supplied MC4 connectors.

That will be at least 2 months from now.
