Where do you keep your sewer hose?

I've always used those cheapie single-ended sewer hoses, and kept them inside the rear bumper. I'm storing the trailer at a new place that has a sewer dump, and it's great, except the hole is further from the driving lane, and my cheapie hose is stretched near it's limit. Been thinking of a better hose, maybe with one of those elbows on it, but I am sure those wouldn't fit inside my bumper.

What do you smart folks do with your hose? Do you have a bucket stored somewhere for it? Does that bucket end up smelling like the stuff you are dumping?

Looking for ideas, because I'm too cheap to spend the thirty bucks or so just to test-fit it.

I made up a 5"*5" 8 foot square tube under the trailer near the sewer hookup. Just bolted it to the trailer frame web. Used two bungee cords and two end caps. Works great. Added a 4" vinyl eaves trough 8feet long enough inside. Use that to slide the sewer hose in and out and as a support

I keep two 10' hoses in my bumper. The 90 degree elbow you speak of disconnects from the hose and is stored elsewhere.

I store 2 10' sections of Rhino Flex in my rear bumper.

I keep all my dump supplies in a closed bin in my belly storage.

I do a thorough rinse of the hose, replace the caps and then roll it into the bin. the rinse hose, box of gloves and wrench go in the middle. Never have had an odor problem.

A plastic storage container works for me. Simple to install and allows quick access at the dump station. Keeps the mess contained and rinses out easily when necessary.

I have a Rhino flex, and it would store in the rear bumper of my TT (even with 90* elbow) but a pain, so I got a Valterra hose carrier and mounted it under the TT on some OEM mounting tabs at the end of the A frame. Much easier to deal with than the bumper storage concept.

I have 6 inch PVC pipe with screw on end caps. I have it fastened to the frame near the sewer outlet. I then made a drawer out of 4 inch vinyl gutter that my hoses and fittings sit in.

Grumpy,
Go to Lowe's and buy a 5"x5"x8' plastic fence post with 2 end caps. Also buy a 10' length of 4" round rain gutter. Lay the sewer hose and fittings within the gutter and slide it into the fence post.If you buy a new sewer hose, I recommend the Rhinoflex from Camco (those are some very tough hoses.)

When you deploy the sewer hose, you can leave it in the gutter for protection, rather than dragging it around on the ground. I U-bolt mounted mine on top of the rear bumper and put a screen door hook on each cap to make sure I didn't have one open up while in transit. Between the hardware and materials, I spent around $30. You could mount it under the trailer if you have the space and aren't worried about rocks kicking up and breaking the post.

Good luck with your mod. .......... Swampy

I use a Rubbermaid tote. I keep two hoses in it as well as all adapters needed. It stays in the shower stall until the shower is needed, then it is stored under the trailer. The hose with the rhino ends does not fit in my bumper tube.

I keep my two hoses, 15 and 10 feet, in the bumper. Then I have a plastic storage bin for any other sewage related items, black tank hose, gloves, hose attachment for cleaning, etc.

I’ve owned a Sewer Solution setup for 5-ish years. Have a total of 30’ of sewer hose and can reach the dump at my storage lot from my storage slot. Store it all in a plastic tub which lives in the basement. When we pulled the 23B it rode in the same tub stored in the shower pan. It uses water to “pump” the waste and can flush uphill.

I have multiple hoses (Rhino Flex) so I can't keep it all in the bumper. I have two extensions in the bumper now and the rest is in a clear tub. I make it a habit to take them home and clean them better. I soak the hoses and fittings in soapy water with Dawn in a plastic tub and let them air dry. It's usually one of those items we keep at the house when we're not camping. If you don't clean them on a normal basis, they can end up pretty funky to say the least.

I keep a 15' hose in the bumper and two other 5' hoses in a large plastic box. I keep all of the other sewer parts and accoutrements in the same bin, including a 25' flex hose for tank flushing. Nothing gets put back in the box until it has been blasted with bleach (bleach cleaner in spray bottle), water rinsed, and dried. I also bleach blast and rinse and dry the bumper hose before returning it to the bumper. This way, there is no stench, and I am not afraid to touch the parts. I like to have everything clean and ready for use, so I do a lot of detailed tasks before putting things away. I will say that people often comment on how nice and well-kept our vehicles and tools are. Stuff is expensive; we work very hard for it, and I want it to work well when I need it. Some folks do not care to be so picky, but it's how my momma trained me, too late to change now.

Black Water Hose Carrier

My black water hose goes in a heavy duty black trash bag in a heavy duty plastic tote in the back of the truck. I replace the bag at the end of the trip or a needed. Also "sanitize" the hose after every trip.

I like the 4x4 fence post idea & may try.

I have the hose that came with the camper stored in the bumper as a back-up. I went from Rhinoflex hose stored in the starter bucket the standard hose came to a shelf installed on top of the dump valves.

These days I just keep several Rubbermaid type tubs in the truck bed. One for all the sewer hose stuff, another for fresh water stuff, etc. It's so much easier when the weather is bad, than trying to dig everything in and out of the basement storage.

After i finish using the sewer hose i take it inside and throughly clean it in the kitchen sink then store it in the large kitchen draw i keep the silverware in (just kidding). I also use a 5x5 fence post with end caps mounted under the trailer. For me it’s the best solution.
