I recently installed mine and I did so upside down which keeps it open when I desire and so far it also stays closed when desired. So, you may be able to reinstall yours upside down. On the other hand, if it were mine I would use either a thin wood dowel(s) along one or both sides to keep it up, or perhaps the smallest size paper binder thing(s) on one side or both. Only suggestions as I don't think (at least on mine) that there is any latch in the shade to adjust or correct for this. ~CA

It's the tension on the side strings that make the shade slide up and down easily to stiffly. On wall units you can wrap a little more string around the wall anchor. On the door shade like in your picture, you have to lift up the bottom rail. Slip off the end caps and tie a small knot thereby "shortening" the string, making it the string more taught. Which will make the shade stiffer to slide up and down, and thus it will stay up and not fall down.

Look up "Pleated Shade Riddle" posted in the general section of the forum. It was posted a couple of weeks ago. It has some great information.
