Wireless camera

For my birthday last month, my wife bought me a wireless camera to mount on the back of the camper so I can watch behind as we are driving, and hopefully make it easier to back up into campsites. The directions, are well... vague. The camera has a power cord and a button to link it with the display inside the truck. The display inside plugs into the power supply (cigarette lighter) inside. I know the camera needs power, but a little foggy on where/how. Has anyone used something like this before?

Most people either connect the camera to the line operating the back up lights or the running lights.

If you plan to use it going down the road the running lights will provide power as long as you don't mind having them on. I do for safety anyway so it is a good choice for me.

I just installed a wireless camera. Not to difficult. I spliced into my upper center marker light for power. It means I have to run with might lights on for it to operate. No problem, I have always towed with my lights or fog lights on so that the Trailer lights were on. I did have to mount my camera in place of the middle marker light as there was no room to run the wires due to the roof construction and rear window location!

I tapped into the center marker light and wired ours to work with the running lights which lets you see behind you when going down the road making lane changes etc. safer.
