Xantrex Freedom 1200 Inverter

How do you worker the inverter to allow AC to pass through it?

Plug in the coach. It should automatically switch over. If it was wired correctly

It was already plugged in. That’s why we were trying to get it to switch over to AC

Hmmm... well, there should be an access cover on the inverter itself. I'd take that off and put a meter to the AC input connection and make sure there is live AC there. If there is I'd almost think there is something wrong with the inverter.

Have you checked the circuit breaker in the breaker panel?

Have you determined if you have 120VAC at an outlet that is not connected to the inverter circuit?

I just looked at the posted pic again and noticed in the lower left corner it shows the AC sine wave is lit up meaning it sees the AC input but does not show the current path coming off it. So I'm thinking something is not working or a setting is not correct with it. I searched my manual and didn't see in there anywhere of turning on or off a setting to make it auto switch when it detects incoming AC.

did you ever figure out what was wrong? I'm having the same problem. Inverter is not switching over to shore power.

Similar Issue

we have a Freedom X 1200 on Alante. On current trip something tripped incoming "I think" AC breaker. F lipped it back on, but inverter still won't recognize AC when plugged into shore 30 A. Plan to get out multimeter and start checking per previous advise here. non inverter outlets working. Inverter outlets running off battery / inverter. Battery showing fully charged. I don't think inverter is part of charging circuit, but not certain. No schematics or JayCo wiring diagram. So reverse engineering to troubleshoot.

I have a different model inverter. Its output goes through a separate small transfer switch. Some inverters have built-in transfer switches. I think yours has the built-in version.

You can get the manual here...

Sometimes, you can overthink a problem.

Thanks Jim. This actually turned into a National Lampoon Christmas Vacation or Homer Simpson moment for me. When I closed the breaker after it tripped open, I must not have pushed it far enough open to reset it. I realized to check this again after I measured voltage going in to Inverter was not 120 AC. Doh!
