1/2 ton no go

About 6 months ago we traded our 3500 Dodge for a 1/2 ton Silverado. Last week I attempted to move our Jayco 330RLTS to a different site in the park. When I lowered the hitch onto the ball I couldn't believe my eyes. The truck sagged so much that I didn't even finish setting the trailer down. A neighbor with a 3/4 ton saved the day and let me use his truck.

Since we no longer tow the jayco I didn't see any need to keep driving a heavy duty truck and I felt that the new truck would at least move the trailer a short distance but that's not how it turned out.

Well the trailer is now parked in the new spot and will stay there for several years so I will continue to enjoy my new smaller truck.

Not to worry, too many people purchase what they see others doing and not what best fits their own personal situation. You can hire someone to move your RV if necessary and don't need a truck at all. I don't think I could live without a truck, but if I did't tow I'd get rid of my 3/4 ton like you did. As a daily or regular driver it is a pain. We use it to tow our TT and to travel when we take our dogs. Recently wrecked my Jeep and have been driving my 3/4 until the Jeep is replaced. This got old real quick.

Enjoy your 1/2 ton. My wife has never forgiven me for trading in her 1/2 Silverado for the 3/4 when we upgraded the TT.
