14k or 16k WDH?

Let's assume my weight numbers are correct, and my truck can tow this, and I land on 10-15% tongue weight. I just want advice on WDH sizing

TT GVWR 12,800 and 1370 tongue weight factory specs (it's a toy hauler...I will not be towing toys...garage = office, dining, 2nd bedroom, etc...)

Equalizer has a 1400/14000 WDH ($738 w ball) and a 1600/16000 WDH ($845 no ball). Oddly they don't include a ball with the 16k unit. Seriously for $850?

Anyhow, the 14k unit is only barely surpassing the tongue weight. The 16k unit covers the trailer and the tongue weight.

Is the 16k overkill? Too rough of a ride?
The 14k covers the trailer weight, but is it enough for the tongue?

I would lean towards the #14000 lb hitch, but a call to Equalizer Support at 800-478-5578 with all your numbers, will get an expert answer for you. They're great people, and know their stuff.

Already called them. They recommend the 16k, but again they need to cover their butts to ensure they don't say "go with this" and I do and run into trouble with a lesser rated version. That said they aren't accounting for what kind of ride I will have. Since it's "close" that's why I'm asking you guru's with experience. I know some of you have gone either way, or both ways over the years, so need more feedback.

That said, the 16k is only available with a 2.5" shank...which would mean a new tow hitch on the truck.
