15 Chevy 2500 6.0 and 15 jay flight 26bh

I traded my 13 Silverado 1500 5.3 for a 15 Silverado 2500 6.0 over the weekend.Im still waiting for the truck to break in before I tow with it. I'm wondering if anyone else is towing this combo and how you like it?I know it's no duramax but I hope it will pull the 7000 pound 26bh around alittle easier then the old truck did.

Old truck:13 Silverado,ext cab,standard box,5.3l,4x4 z71,3.42 gears,heavy duty towing package with P3 brake controler.

New truck:15 Silverado, crew cab, standard box,6.0l,4x4,4.10 gears factory tow package with built in trailer brake controler.

You will be very pleased with the switch, I was and my truck is older with less power then the new ones. But it has the payload and stability.....

Yes stability,Old truck felt like it was rolling on sponges.Getting passed by a semi or hitting cross winds was a white knuckle experience.Sway control worked, but the whole combo would get pushed around. One time a heavy cross wind pushed the truck and trailer into another lane.Luckily there was no traffic.

We went from an '09 1500 Chevy to a 2015 2500 HD 6.0 with a 4:10 rear this spring. We pull a White Hawk 28dsbh which is a little lighter as far as dry weight, but I can tell you the 2500 6.0 does a great job. Glad we made the jump. Congrats on the truck!! Enjoy!!

sweet ride! i did the exact same thing back in March. i was towing my 26BHS with a 2013 Silverado Crew, 5.3L Max Tow. i could tell on the first trip that i wasn't going to like it, especially since we were planning a 4000 mile trip through the mountains of Montana and Wyoming in the summer. i bought the 2015 2500HD Duramax Z71....what a difference!! it was a joy to pull with on our trip, and i don't regret it for a second. you will love your new rig.

Be prepared for low gas mileage while towing your 26BH. I just came back from South Dakota and I averaged around 7.5 - 8.0 MPG towing our 24FBS.

I had to check and make sure it wasn't an old post of mine....I traded a 2013 1500 for a 2015 2500...and was pulling a Jayco Jay Flight 26BH. The 1500 pulled it on flat ground ( I live in DE so there is a lot of flat ground) if we go to the mountains in PA or VA it would struggle horribly....a couple of times I thought I was going to tear it up.
Traded the truck in Jan...pulled the 26BH until May...what a world of difference. Traded in MAY to A 27RLS(heavier)...headed for Staunton VA the end of Oct...that'll be the test...

That doesn't bother me,that's about what I was getting towing with my 1500.As far as not towing,I lost 1.5 mpg's but I'm driving the new truck like a grandpa vs the old truck like a teenager.

Towing with our 2500 HD we have gotten at best 9.5, worst was when we brought the camper home bucking a head wind with gusts up to 30 mph, we got 6.5. But, I too drive it like a grandpa. Not towing the best I have gotten is 17.5. I'm satisfied with the truck completely.
