Hey all...little update on MPGs...I did a little more highway miles the last couple weeks and my MPGs now sit at 14.6.

I think if I did all highway miles I could average about 16 - 18 which is only a 2 or so MPGs better than my Ram 1500 (5.7 Hemi). I never got more than 18/19 in my 1500 (though my co-worker claimed 22 was his average and I've read about 20+ MPGs average I never once saw anything higher than 19 during my 3 years of ownership).

So, right on my prediction of 13 - 15 daily driving. Very happy with that number considering it's a 2500 gasser.

Trailer has arrived also and our PDI is scheduled for this coming Tuesday (didn't want the weekend as I want plenty of time to go through everything and they were "almost booked" for Saturday). "Almost booked" to me means hurry up and get this done so I'll go Tuesday and stay the night in their CG and then pull her home on Wednesday.

The ride home is a little over 75 miles so I'll get a decent feel for the truck and TT hooked up.

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi. I found the MPGs got better after I had about 1000 miles on the odometer. I can get about 16-17 MPG on the highway with 89 octane gas. I found the Hemi runs a lot better on 89 octane. Sometimes if I gas up at a local BJs, I'll get the 92 octane which is less $$ than 89 octane in local gas stations.

Trailer is home and the truck did awesome! We are in south Texas and the weather from yesterday to today was a huge change. 90s and sunny before and today is cool (60s), windy (25mph) and raining off and on. Truck towed awesome and didn't even notice the side wind all the way home.

I have pulled trailers for a few years with my previous Ram 1500 (CC, 5.7 Hemi, 3.92 2X4) and I can say without a doubt, this was a much nicer, easier, relaxing tow! Truck did awesome with tow/haul on and cruise set to 63. Averaged a hair over 10 mpg on the way home (little over 70 miles) too so happy with that. Granted we are in south Texas and it's rather flat but but right at what I expected.

I even backed the TT (28 feet ball to bumper) into the driveway...which by the way is a hair over 32 feet long on a regular subdivision street with cars on both sides! Yeah, took me a couple times to line her up on the driveway due to cars on the opposite side but she's parked in there now! Happy guy here, happy wife too so life is great!

Great update! Keep them coming! I'm looking to buy one of those exact trucks (except maybe for the Laramie, depends on budget) and I'm VERY interested to hear of your experiences since we have very similar usage habits and we're practically neighbors (I'm in Seguin)

If you get a chance, I'd like to know any CAT scale results if you get it weighed. Just in case you can't find one in NB, there's a CAT scale at the Love's here in Seguin at 725 and IH-10.

We are looking to load up in 2 weeks and make our maiden voyage. I plan to stop at the scales and see what I have...I'll post up here.

We aren't too far apart...just a few miles up the road from you. Might have to plan a weekend trip up to the hill country or coast!
