2018 F-150 O.E.M. Brake Controller Issue

I am installing the O.E.M. brake control in my 2018 F-150 XLT 2.7L Eco-boost tomorrow. My truck luckily already has the #24 30 amp fuse and the electric brake plug pre-wired and attached under the dash waiting for me to plug and play the brake controller. However, Once I get it installed I have been told that I have to take it into a Ford dealer to get it "Flashed" so the computer recognizes that it has been installed. Are any of you having these same issues with a plug and play O.E.M. Brake Controller? I should have had the dealer include the brake control in the deal when I bought it. Hind sight is 20/20.

It is either that, or buy the proper ODB module reader and use Forescan to program it yourself.

I have to agree with madmaxmutt - Look up Forscan and activate it yourself. Forscan also allows you to turn on/off many other things.

EDIT: Or, since I decided to look again at where you are it appears we are neighbors. I'd be happy to help you on this. Let me know.

I also greatly appreciate the offer to help! I installed the brake controller myself last night and took the truck to the dealership today and got the computer flashed. I can now go pick up the camper on Saturday with a working brake control. Soon to be camping once again.

Thumbs up

I wish I had gotten to you sooner.

Enjoy your camping!! And if you do decide to check out the things Forscan can do ( https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...-truck-348987/ ) shoot me a private message and we can make some arrangements. You can read a little on the page linked but checking out the actual spreadsheet is probably the easiest to see all the changes that have been found.
