2022 chevy 3500hd and 321 rsts

Looks like i will be going from a 16’ chevy 3500hd crew cab regular bed diesel srw to the 22’ in the same platform. The bed rails are higher on the 22’ and we use a pullrite super glide. I am considering the picture frame puck system for the pull rite but am open to suggestions for hitches. I DO like the auto slides. What issues will i run into hitching up to the new truck and higher bed rails? Will i have to drop to the lowest hole for the leaf springs or will it be just hitch adjustments???

Not sure what your trailer is, I had a north point and also went from a 16’ to a 20’ gmc and I didn’t have any issues. My buddy did the same thing and has a smaller fiver and also had no issues. Remember gm moved the hitch point back 4” and the bed longer in these new trucks, leaving more clearance to the cab.

I have the Jayco 321RSTS and I don't far see you having any problem but you have to hook it up to make sure or find someone who have that setup.

Going from a 16 foot truck to a 22 foot truck?

On Fords, I think '17 trucks got taller and then in '21-ish they dropped down an inch or two. I think the distance between bed floor and bed side wall top was unchanged ... the bed never got any deeper. So, when you say the bed rails are higher on the new truck, is this regarding the overall height of the truck ... bumper, etc. are all a bit higher? How much higher? Again, you can find all of this information on Fords over at the Ford forums ... perhaps you can find out more info about relative heights and fitments at a similar GM forum?

I also don't know what a "regular" bed is. Short beds are 6.5 - 6.75', depending on manufacturer and year. Long beds are standard at 8'. No idea what a "regular" bed is, though. Maybe that's just me and GM uses this term. I've never seen anyone with hitch placement issues in an 8' bed. However, the short beds require more care.

My concern will be that bedrails sit higher on the 22’. I hope I only have to do hitch and pin box adjustments to avoid contact between the bed rails and camper.

I went from a 16' 2500 to a 20' 2500 relative same height differences. Used the same hutch in the same height position. Trailer is now a little nose high but bed rail to trailer distance is very close to the same, slightly closer at rear of bed.

Why did they move it back? It's behind that axle now isnt it? Was it purely for clearance because I would think the pin behind the axle would unload the front axle slightly and maybe not be as stable?

I am towing a 339flqs it is 37' overall. With the slight hitch setback I don't think it needs a slider whatsoever. Frankly I only used the slider on the 16' one time and only as a precaution.

Not many people have the 339, glad to see I'm not the only one...

I'm gonna be setting up the new B&W for puck system this week, will be interesting to see differences between the 06 and the 17 Fords for comparison sake.
