I would think with that 4:10 rear axle ratio you would be fine. x2 on loading.

Got the new camper in the driveway today. Truck did great. I could hardly notice a difference from the old camper, (roughly 2K lbs lighter). I still love my truck !!!!

Congrats on the new setup! I have pretty much the same rig, 2004 2500 with the 6.0L gas pulling a 2012 32BHDS and it's done great for the past 2 years! As I expected I don't try to race any Ferraris uphill, but we get there just fine. Any good trips planned for the summer?

I actually just bought the truck not that long ago. It has less than 50K miles on it, looks like it was frozen in time, I couldn't pass it up. I was looking hard for a nice 8.1 but apparently they're only a myth !
I was skeptical of the 6.0 at first, coming from 454, but so far it has really impressed me. I love my truck....so far !
I'll post an update when we bring it home Saturday.
I had a 2004 Silverado 3500 4x4 SRW 8.1L 4.10 gears with the Allison 1000 transmission. I traded it in last June with about 47k miles on it. We got a Greyhawk. The truck pulled like a beast!

I've finally got my Reese DC dialed in. I think it tows better than the older, lighter camper ever did. The truck likes the extra weight it seems.

What are you 6.0 guys seeing for mileage. Looks like I'm around 7.5-8 mpg, but I've got 285's on there, which doesn't help.

Two trips booked so far. Two weeks at the beach and Disney in the fall.

That's about what I get with my TV/TT combined loaded weight of 15,400lbs (6.0L/4.10). With a tail wind and on the flats I can snag a little over 9mpg

Your numbers are exactly in the same range as what I'm getting.
