90K miles, need some input

Our TV is a Customized Van built on a Chevy 2500 truck chassis. All our previous vans were built on passenger chassis, with passenger motors and transmissions. They always needed to be traded prior to 100K.

This van is a truck. Truck chassis, big engine, strong transmission etc. I am looking for some input and when trucks are at "end of life."

Yes, I understand there is not an exact answer but I value the opinions and experience of people on this forum. It will cost 100K for a new one and I don't want to spend that if I can get a few more years out of this one.

Current 90K miles of which 31K is from pulling our trailer (2017 23MRB).

Thanks!

I have seen plenty that have held up well to around 350,000 miles. My brother went 400,000 on his 2500 and then had a low mileage used engine installed and currently has over 500,000 miles on his.

Which engine do you have in yours? The Duramax should last for even more miles than I suggested.

I would suspect that 200,000 wouldn't be an issue and even a lot more if you keep a close eye on the maintenance. Perhaps send a few oil samples to blackstone (one sample during each oil change for at least a few oil changes) and they can give you an idea on metals found in the oil and how their analysis of the oil relates to engine wear. ~CA

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.

Here are the specs on the Van/Power Train. 6.0 liter V
-
8 Vortec Gen III 323 H.P.
3.42 Rear axle ratio
New 6 speed automatic overdrive transmission with Tow /
Haul mode

I am diligent about maintenance. Change oil every 5K and on any RV trip over 5K will change the oil mid-way. Always have mechanic complete a thorough check up before any trip that will be over 5K. I never knew about Blackstone. Looked them up and ordered a kit.

My previous company provided van was a 13 or 14 gmc 3500 with the 6 speed auto. Scaled just under 10,000 pounds. Like clockwork the trans would loose 4th gear every 115,000 miles.
