Added another one: 2021 Ford Ranger

Due to a few circumstances and one of our daily drivers being on the lift more than it is on the road, we, found ourselves looking for another vehicle. We wanted something more in the mid size range this time. So, after some debate and a number of test drives, we ended up with a 2021 Ford Ranger Crew Cab. It was fresh off of the hauler with a 9/21 build date. It's a 302a package XLT with the technology group and chrome package.

We weren't truly looking to buy new right now, but with the used car market being what it is, this made the most sense.

Now I'm not going to tell you that we got some amazing deal. But, we were able to negotiate a little off of MSRP in addition to a small Ford rebate.

Not that we plan on towing with this particular truck, but it does have a 1495 lb payload rating on the door sticker.

FYI - you are advertising your VIN on the last Pict.. Nice Truck.. I love the new Rangers. Also love the new little Elect4ic Mustangs.. I heard that the Ranger was available with an electric power plant as well.. we are depatimg on an electric local commute vehicle and the Ranger would fit the bill. Enjoy the new truck.

Impressive payload. I had a Tundra with less payload. The Ranger has come a long ways.

Thanks. It is actually replacing a 2004 Dodge Dakota that will no longer pass inspection due to rust. Between that and my wife's Ram being constantly in a state of disassembly, it was time to do something.

It is actually surprising how similar in size this thing is side by side with the old Dakota. They are nearly identical in every dimension.

From a Dodge to a Ford (or Toyota) = major upgrade.

Congrats on the new ride!!

I agree, the Ford Ranger has come a long way......, and nice color!

Who knows, maybe the RV Industry will come out with a 1/4 ton FW

That's one nice looking truck. I had a feeling something new(er) was going to take up residence in your driveway!

Congratulations!

Thank you. Adding the 4th driver and the ongoing issues with my wife's Ram, I sort of had to make a move when I found the problems with the Dakota. The Dakota is going to the body shop next week to see what it would cost to do the rust repair. I want to see if it would be worth fixing before I sell it. One or two of these things do need to be sold now.

Keeping a vehicle rust free here in the northeast is a real challenge. I use Car Well rust preventive treatment based in Cheektowaga NY. My 98 Dakota which I use for a winter driver remains rust free to this day! Just had my 21 Ram treated last week. Lifetime warranty against rust through such as around the wheel arches so long as it isn't from chips scratches etc. The only downside is the vehicle drips out of all the weep holes for about a week. Easy to clean up however.

2021 Ford Ranger

We have a Jayco Greyhawk 27U and will be flat towing a 2021 Ford Ranger 4x4.
When we put in flat tow mode we get a message saying parameters are not yet set for flat towing. Has anyone else had this issue. We just purchased two weeks ago.

If you bought a truck and paid less than msrp you certainly got a better deal than I can get in Central SC. All of the dealers here have added a "market adjustment ".
I would really like to upgrade to a 3/4 ton pickup, but I don't want to pay a premium over list price.

Got a great deal on a new Chevy Colorado, crew-cab, V-6, 2WD in April 2019 in anticipation of buying an RV. It now has 22,000 miles on it. The dealer I bought it from is now offering me $8,000 plus more than I paid!
April 2020, bought a new Lance 1685, so the truck and RV will remain in my driveway.

Thanks. Yes, I consider myself really lucky to have found this one and have been able to make the deal that I did.

All of my previous vehicles were treated annually at Ziebart. Which, turned out to do very little to protect them as they are all falling apart at this point.

Starting with my 2018 F150, I switched over to Fluid Film. It is too early to tell. But, I like what I am seeing so far with it. I'll be treating the Ranger with it soon. I have the equipment to do the application myself including the sprayer and 360 wands to get up in the frame rails, body cavities, etc.
