Bank,

Do you think you will get a gas or diesel motor? If diesel (maybe even for the gas too), you may want to consider a 3500/350 for the extra payload over the 2500/250. Not sure what your passenger weight is, but more so with a diesel a 2k lb + pin weight, plus the 5ver hitch weight can eat up most (if not all) the payload of a 2500/250. Just something to consider.

Final Decision

Ok I went with the Ram 2500. The deciding factor? During my test drives, I noticed the Hemi was getting WAY better gas milage. I was getting 11MPG average with the chevy and almost 16 with the RAM. They were both awesome trucks but the ram had more positives checked on its side. Some of those were Better fuel milage, 1 year newer, $1800 less. The chevy had a nicer interior though and all the controls were just way more intuitive. You can also tell that chevy put better quality materials into parts of the truck such as better rims, better seats, better wiper arms, better floor mats, better mirriors.... Unfortunately they weren't anything really important to me and didn't make it any better of tow vehicle. So I am pretty happy with my decision. The Ram was just more truck for the buck..

A Chevy 2500 6.0 is 9500 gvwr,the link at the top is for a 12 1500.

2015 Chevy Silverado 2500's with the 6.0L only come with 4.10's. 6.6 duramax get 3.73's.Prior to 2015 3.73's were standard and 4.10's were optional on gas 6.0's.Gm realized what a mistack it was a did away with the 3.73's on the gasser's.

I own a 15 Silverado 2500 6.0. I drove a dodge but I can't stand the "curb feel" of the truck. Its hard to make out where your fenders and bumpers are.

Actually for '14 the 4.10's were standard and 3.73's were optional.

I went with a Chevrolet for my truck because GM offers a factory 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Neither Dodge nor Ford could match that. yes the bumper to bumper was the same, but I wanted that powertrain warranty as I put 45,000 miles a year on my vehicle since it is a business vehicle and my tow vehicle. Just having that extra in the warranty was totally worth it for me.

Congrats! I have the same truck but with a Cummins. You will learn to love the rear coils and 5 link. I never want to go back to leaf springs.
