Just sayin'...
Enjoy camping when we can finally do it.

Agree. Thats why i have a dually pulling 16000 lbs with 3800 lbs on the pin. Safety for all. Not Show boating with the Hey i can tow anything mentality.

Thank you all. I have read and read and read and I think my primary issue really is my low payload of 1372. After factoring in a tongue weight of approximately 750 for the X213, plus 600lbs for people and dogs, that leaves me with no room for cargo.
I just have a hard time believing that I can’t buy a X213 because my F150 cant handle it. The truck is built out for towing. Ive read many posts from over the years of people pulling the X213 with Tacomas and Arcadias with “no problem” which is more confusing lol.

What this should tell you is how many people are out there running overloaded. I think when slightly to moderately overloaded, the chances of losing control are fairly low, but the consequences are quite high. The chances of regaining control when out of control while overloaded are very slim.

you can put allot of cargo in the trailer and balance it out... as long as you don't over load that.. putting 600lb in the truck doesn't make a whole lot of sense...if you have a trailer

Not sure about your Ford, but, I suspect the 11,000 weight listed on the hitch would be because it is probably a Class IV hitch. While I have a Nissan Titan, not a F150, my sticker states 11,550 lbs max. However, my truck, equipped with the towing package, on the door states max is 9450lbs. I have a 2020 Jayco White Hawk 32RL. The Sticker on the trailer states max is 9400lbs, but, that would be with max load, ie: full water cargo, etc. The as built weight is 8400lbs. I have had no problems so far, but, I keep the cargo to the min. and, no water in any of the tanks. There will be some that will tell me that I still have too much weight, but, so far, and, with the equalizer hitch, I have had no issues. But, coming from the Popup world, I know I still have a few things to learn, Thanks, and happy camping (Whenever we can again.)

With only 1372 pounds of payload it is not " built out" to tow.

My family of 4 and 3 dogs add up to 600lbs alone. That doesn’t count the iPhones each kid will hold in their hand for the entire trip.

A truck by design is not built for towing. Payload is not the most important issue.

When it comes to towing payload is the number one specification that is exceeded often times due to ignorance of the owner. Followed by rear axle spec. It is not a criticism for the sake of making anyone feel bad its just a fact. So many people look at what their vehicles tow rating is and that is the extent of their research. Most dealers do not offer responsible/informed advice at time of purchase, as a result there are numerous overloaded rigs on the road.
