Anyone tow a Pinnacle with a GM 3500 or 2500 6.5" bed?

I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 3500HD Duramax, crew cab, single rear wheel, with a standard 6.5" bed (not 8" long bed).

Does anyone tow a Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel with a standard bed like mine?

What 5th wheel hitch do you use? Do you have an automatic sliding hitch like the Pullrite Superglide? Manual slide? No slide?

I would prefer a completely removable rail system like the Pullrite SuperRails or B&W Companion hitch.

I just got the truck and do not have a 5th wheel hitch? I am seriously looking at Jayco Pinnacle trailers.

I don't have a problem buying a Pullrite Superglide, if I need one. On the other hand, there are lots of toys I could buy with the ca$h I'd save if I do not need the Superglide.

I want to get the hitch soon. I want to get the hitch installed before having Line-X Premium sprayed in the bed so the holes will have the edges covered.

Thanks for you advise.

I have a Dodge 2500 s/b. with a Valley 16k manual slide hitch. I have not had to use the slide since I have owned the 5er, about 2 years. IMHO, save your money and buy a manual slide hitch.

We pull our Pinnacle with a 2500 HD 6.5 Ft bed Chevy DuraMax

We still use the Husky 16K Slider that we got when we had our 05 Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel. It is a standard hitch with Rails in the bed and we have a tool chest in the front of the bed.

The 05 Eagle did not have a rounded nose cap like the Pinnacle does.
We had the Eagle for 6 years and used the Slider on the Hitch one time, not sure we really needed to then but had to make a tight turn around in a dead end parking lot we got stuck in once and just wanted to be sure.

With the Pinnacle I doubt we will ever use the slider function on the hitch.

We also had the spray in liner done after the hitch holes were drilled.

I had the hitch vs Line-x conversation when I bought my new truck. The bed is galvanized on mine. The Line-x people advised me to apply the line-x first because under the rails would not be Line-X'ed. I took their advise.

My first truck had the rails mounted when I had it done and I was never happy with the look, even though they taped over the rails before spraying.

Only other option is to remove the rails after installing. That seems like over kill.

Just saying...
