Hope after Fiat buys back a zillion trucks, with the right to resell them after they are fixed, it doesn't dilute the value of those that kept theirs.

I researched death wobble extensively before buying my truck. Inherent in solid front axle system. Not concerned as I will keep an eye on front suspension parts and replace appropriately for wear.

I think NHTSA is punishing FCA for dragging their feet on other recalls. Their own fault they are in this position.

Chev had the ignition, Toyota had the gas pedal, Ford had bad tires (or more famously the Pinto). The point is defective parts are not exclusive to a specific brand. Parts contracts are given to the lowest bidder.

The key is in how the manufacturer handles it.

I have a new Ram 2500 with the Uconnect feature which works really great. Had the Chrysler dealer check and my truck is affected by that recall. However, they don't tell the dealer how to fix it yet. I'm sure it will take a reprogram of the onboard computer. I'm not too worried about it as I live in Podunk, Ga and there is not anyone anywhere near me who is smart enough to take over the computer over the WiFi! I guess the beauty about this is however, that it can be done over the internet, from anywhere with an internet connection!

The hacker does not need to be near you in order to take over the computer - it's done via the Internet so pretty much from anywhere. You can download the fix and apply it yourself rather than wait for the dealer. I did mine a couple of weeks ago - took about 20 minutes or so. Go to this link and put your VIN number in to verify your truck's status and download the update:

Uconnect® Software Update - Update your Uconnect® System

You'll need an empty 4GB or larger USB stick to unpack the update onto. After that it's pretty much plug the USB into the truck and follow the on-screen instructions. Then there are a couple of key on/off and door open/close sequences at the end to complete it.

I own a '14 F150 and it's a downgrade by a large margin from all three of the Ram trucks I owned previously.

So why did you jump brands?

I recently jumped from RAM to GMC because of RAM's payloads being a bit on the low side since they switched to coil springs in the rear. I was seriously considering a 2015 F150, but they are waaay more expensive then my Sierra. Also, maybe this is just me, but Ford seems to make very ugly engines .
