Axle Question

Trailer is rated at GVWR 3975 lbs. Axle is rated at GAMR 3500lbs. Curious why the GVWR is greater than the axle rated at 3500 lbs.

Is this another "Tongue weight" issue, where the tongue weight is factored in?

Yes. The tongue jack, takes some weight while disconnected and while connected the truck takes some weight

Kinda figured that. What gets me is all of the rv manufactures play the same game, using the tongue weight calculation to get by with marginal, in my opinion, running gear, axles, tires, wheels etc.

I understand profits and price points and all that nonsense, but in when buying in volume I would think it may be a push dollar wise when you factor in things like warranty repairs and customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, as you mentioned, this is very common in the industry. However, some trailers a built with some margin in capacity. Here is the sticker from my Baja Edition Feather. Notice that the trailer has 2 3500# axles and a 5500# GVWR.

Here is my sticker
GVWR : 9250
GAWR : 4400 each axle

That leaves 450 pounds of too much weight on the axles.
I know there is about 1100 pounds on the tongue.
