Bilstein HD shocks

I suspected the shocks on my truck were done so I replaced all 4 with Bilstein Hds (blue and yellow ones) this week. My suspicions were correct and all four shocks were beat, zero rebound on them. If anyone is interested in a review on these Bilsteins I will be able to provide a real world test in a short time. I'm currently putting approx. 13,000 miles a month on my truck with half of that towing a trailer of some sort.
Gave them a quick test ride and they are significantly better than what I had on there.

I put a set of Blistein HD's on my 2500HD a few years back and they made a notable difference right away, and my OEM shocks were still good. One thing I noticed with the Blistein's they reduced road vibrations in the TV cab.

I was looking at putting these same shocks on my F150 Screw but thought it might be somewhat of a overkill. I only tow a 228 with a max
payload of 5000 lbs. I do occasionally tow a car hauler with a max payload of 7000 lbs. I just don't want my ride to be too stiff when I am
not loaded. What are your thoughts ???

From my experience you cannot compare empty rides of a 1/2 ton to a 1 ton. I picked the shocks up at tire rack in South Bend, IN maybe check their website to see if they list them for your truck. I'm picking up a 5er on Monday to tow 1600 miles so I'll give a quick recap on ride quality.

I have priced out the Bilsteins for my truck already. So I know they make them for my model of truck. The one thing I have learned is
just because they make something for your vehicle doesn't mean it is automatically for you. It all depends what you do with your truck.
I tend to agree that you cannot compare a 1/2 ton to a 1 ton riding empty. I just don't want to beef it up too much that I create a miserable ride.

I`ve had a set of Bilstein HD`s on my 1500 for about 50,000 miles now. So far so good and the ride is very good.

I have Bilstein 5100's on my 4Runner.
Everyone on the 4Runner forum runs Bilsteins the 1st chance they get.
A well engineered product.

I had the Bilstein HD's on my 1/2 ton 'burb and I added the 5100's to my 3/4 sierra. Best money I ever spent on the 3/4 ton as it dramatically improved my ride, I am excited to tow with them come spring.

I was looking for 5100s for mine but settled on the HDs. For the money I think these should perform good for me. Glad to hear others have had positive results with them.

I have the Bilstein's on my truck as well - night and day difference vs. stock. What a difference in the ride. It's never going to be a Cadillac, but it doesn't knock the fillings out of your teeth anymore either!

Bilstein HD's on order from eShock.com for my 1/2 ton. I paid $306.00 for all 4 plus free shipping. Best deal on the internet by far.
Just have to wait for a decent day to put them on. Not about to do it with that white stuff falling from the sky.

that is a good price. think mine came to $303 but I picked them up at tire rack in South bend, IN.

after 6500 kms (about half that towing) I am mostly impressed with the Bilsteins. Not to rough maybe a little softer than I prefer for towing. They do suck up most of the bumps well though. For the money I don't think you can go wrong with these.

I'm closing in on 200,000 kms on these shocks and i can sure tell the difference. Think i'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new set of coil springs and replace those as well this time.
