Blue Ox adjustment

Anybody with a Blue Ox WDH ever need a longer drop after buying a new TV. Can I just order a new drop? Been looking on line and all I can find is the entire unit. I know the local dealer will rape me if I buy from them!

Let us know what prices you find. I love the Blue Ox and may be in need of a longer drop shank as well.

A little confused as to which one I'd need but the prices on line range from 150$ to 185$ U.S. and my dealership says they can for under 200$ Canadian so I'd lose money ordering it! Plus they said when I come in to pick up the trailer we can figure out what hitch works best and set it up there. Really the best case scenario.

I would agree.

I believe your new 2015 2500HD has an OEM receiver with a 2 1/2" pin box, which may/or may not effect the size of your new draw bar purchase preference (2" or 2 1/2"). I'm guessing that your prior 2009 1500 OEM receiver came with a 2" pin box.

The 2 1/2" receiver comes with a steel adapter sleeve that will accept a 2" draw bar. If you elect to stay with a 2" draw bar I would confirm the "Weight Distribution Mode limit" if using the adapter sleeve, and that it still meets your TT's "loaded" tongue weight. The adapter sleeve may have a weight specification sticker on it (or refer to owners manual).

What I don't know is if the 2 1/2" to 2" adapter sleeve has the same tongue weight limits as a OEM receiver with a 2" pin box.

Just food for thought...

Bob

It does rustic and for sure I'll get the 2 1/2. Especially if I can't sell the 2inch, I can keep that one in case I ever need to pull it with a half ton.
