Built a new truck for a family member

My brother in law came to me for truck advice. He is currently driving a '13 Ram 3500 6.7 Diesel in the Laramie Longhorn trim. It's a super nice truck but he needs seating for 6 (4 young growing kids) and couldn't justify the added cost of the diesel. The plan is to get a new gas truck and buy a cheap commuter car for trips to and from work.

I'm a Ford guy but that didn't stop me from hitting the books and researching the Ol' Goats.

In a couple of months his new truck will be ready. 2017 Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4X4 with the 6.4L Hemi and 4.10 gears, 6'4 box for a total wheelbase of 160.5in. SLT trim with a bunch of added extras including gooseneck/5th wheel prep, back up and bed cameras, 20in wheels, skid plates, running boards, spray in bed liner.

He has a 2014 Jay Flight 32TSBH that weighs somewhere around 8500lbs dry, and also pulls the odd horse trailer or farm wagon, etc.

It was kind of fun building a new truck and spending someone else's money... Any comments on the choice? I'm hoping he'll be happy.

He may want to reconsider the 20" wheels. He'll have much more tire options with the 18". The 20" transforce tires are garbage. The only other tire out there for the 20" that I'm aware of are Michelin's. Sounds like a great truck though, the wheel size change would be my only suggestion.

I think he'll like it! I've always been a Ford guy too but I've been very happy with my Ram. He should be very happy as long as he dont expect the 6.4 hemi to have the power of the 6.7 CTD.....sounds like the 6.4 will have plenty of power for his usage though.
