Chevrolet 5.3l New plugs & wires = 1.5mpg!

Something to think about if you have a GM/Chevrolet 5.3l engine, new plugs & wires. At 62000 miles, I thought I had an intermittant stumble/misfire and rough idle, so I changed out my plugs & wires over the weekend. Did find one plug wire that had chafed on the fire wall (no.8). The plugs looked so-so, worn & slightly discolored but not bad.

Truck feels much better now, smoother idle & maybe more responsive by my seat of the pants gauge. It also seems to be getting about 1.5 mpg better mileage already. No real upgrade, just used AC Delco iridium plugs and factory wires. Something to keep in mind for you others out there that drive Chevys.
