Chevy 2500HD with class v hitch

So I got this new Chevy 2500HD with a class v hitch. Pretty cool. Very hevy duty.

Problem is it doesn't have the single holes for the trailer chains like my old truck. It has sort of a box on each side with two holes.

I can't figure out how to connect the hooks of the trailer chains. They are two narrow to hook through both holes.

I tried to loop a D Ring through. A 3/4 inch the bolt loop was too big to fit through the hole. A 1/2 inch, the gap was too narrow to loop through.

Anyone have any idea what I am talking about or possibly have a solution?

Thanks!

Look online for Safety Chain Quick Links. See if a pair of those would work for you.

Have you tried hooking them thru the side? Sometimes I have had to go only thru the bottom.

Had the same problem with my Eagle's original chain hooks on my 2016 2500HD....., I ended up removing the old chain/hooks from the TT and installing a new length of chain with latching clevis hooks on each end. The clevis hooks had a wider opening allowing them to pass thru the OEM receiver openings.
