Contacted Jayco concerning PSI rating for White Hawk upgraded wheeles

The following is my recent inquiry to Jayco and their response

I have '13 White Hawk 27DSRL. It has the upgraded wheels by SENDEL 14 inch
Can you tell me what the maximum PSI this wheel is rated for?
Can a tire wider than 205 be mounted on it, say a 215 75R 14?
Will a load range higher than C be able to be mounted safely?

I researched the PSI information for that wheel 1900 @ 60 PSI. Jayco only recommends the factory tire size be used on our products any modification to the size or load rating could result in voiding warranty on that specific part or damaged parts at which that time the customer be responsible for repairs or replacement of damaged parts.

So much for upgrading to a higher load rating on that wheel.

NH96, you are correct to consider upgrading to a higher load rated tire. See this thread:

In our case, load range D tires mounted just fine, and tow quite nicely thank you.

Mike are you using 65# in them or 60 as the max wheel rating? (Assumes you have the same wheels I have.)

I would not let that message deter me from upgrading. That is a standard lawyer driven response to a request for their OK to make a change for their liability protection.

Some rims have the max rated PSI stamped on the outside and I have seen some with sticker inside that have the PSI rating. The other option would be to look the rim up on the manufacturers site. You seem to have the info on it.

If you are still wary, your tires should not need replacing until the warranty period is over, depending on how they wear.

I agree - Jayco is just playing it safe. Like any manufacturer, they do not want to put themselves in a position of approving a modification to their product that they cannot see or control. As long as the upgraded tire fits in the wheel well with adequate clearance, the rim is rated to handle the max tire pressure listed on the tire, and the unit weight does not exceed the axle capacity, you should be good to go. Our 5er came with D rated rims and tires, but the previous owner (original) upgraded to E rims and tires for a greater margin of safety, and the rig is now 10 years old with no damage or problems due to the upgrade.

I did look up the wheel and it is rated for 60 PSI. Also checked a PDF the Goodyear puts out and according to that I could put a 215 on a 5 and a half inch rim. This would at least get me another 110# per tire.
