The payload of a truck is a unique number based on the empty weight of that individual truck and its respective GVWR. You cannot assume a payload number until you see the sticker inside the driver's door. You can ballpark it, but you won't know the actual number till you see it.

klpoppe - your payload is higher because of the trim level of your truck. All the fancy bells and whistles add up in weight, like that Limited I saw. And it's true... the EB engine saves weight and adds power. Win win.

Oh, and frjeff: don't let the 3.55 MaxTow deter you... you want the MaxTow package for many other reasons, not just gearing. It seems like you're looking at 2015 models since those are the only ones that offer the MaxTow package with 3.55 gears. 2014 and older came with 3.73 gears standard with the MaxTow. If the 2014 or older has 3.55 gears, it is not MaxTow (maybe just tow package) and will not include the extras you're wanting.

If you found a 2015 MaxTow with 3.55 gears and you really love it, I would go for it, especially if you're planning on sticking with the 22FB and not going to put bigger tires on the truck. My trailer is a lot bigger than yours and with the bigger tires I put on my truck it effectively took my 3.73 gears and turned them into 3.55 anyway. Still pulls like an angry mule and fuel mileage unloaded is impressive.

This one just hit the dealer's lot today. Sticker says 2016, 3.5L Eco, 3.55 rear and Max Tow Package. Possible they made a 2016 under the 2015 rules?

Pulled the Trigger!

Pick up my new tug at 3PM today:

2016 F150 4X4 SuperCrew SB - Bluejean

3.5L EcoBoost, 3.55 locker, Max Tow Package, bed liner, 18" wheels

2060 Payload
11,500 Tow

Think we'll be quite pleased.

Thanks to all responders for all of the great input on this decision!!
