Dedicated TV, not for daily driving

Was just curious what percentage of TV are also daily drivers and if you have dedicated TV that is just for towing what is your DDV.

Would it be wrong to assume the larger the TV (350,450 / 2500, etc.) the higher chances you have a more affordable daily driver?

I bought a cheap, older car to run around town and I save my diesel truck for long trips.

I got a 2015 Silverado 3500 Crew Longbed Dually Duramax LTZ. Its primarily used to tow my 5th wheel. Goes to sunday church sometimes and driven to work every now and again. Never seen snow and can be counted on one hand the amount of times it been driven in the rain. It currently has 13,500mi on it and is sitting in a heated garage for the winter. My DD is a Yukon XL and the wife drives a G6. I also own a 99 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins that was my TV, DD and sled puller play toy. It's currently in a state of restoration and will probably be a show truck when I'm done.

I have an '09 Honda Civic for the 70 mile, round trip, DD. The Duramax is mostly for towing the TT or a ultility trailer for dirt bikes etc.

In theory, my DD is my F150 and my tow vehicle is supposed to be my Cummins Ram. However, the Ram goes to work most days, and the F150 has seen more towing miles since I got it than commuting miles. So much for following a logical plan.

My truck was my daily driver for 7 years, last year I was finally able to buy a car for my daily driver, this past year I put around 7,000 miles on my truck. I bought a 2011 BMW with only 65,000 miles on it, which I put around 16,000 miles on it that would have gone on the truck.

My '17 Super Duty comes out of the garage once every 2 weeks or so for exercise, less during winter. Mostly used for towing the Eagle but it has done other things. My DD is a '99 Subaru Outback with 259K which still gets 24 mpg.

Bought our 1999 F-250 (with 91k miles) specifically to tow the TT. Bought both about a year ago. Not our DD, but I still exercise it regularly in between trips.

Isn't it kind of hard on an engine to sit a lot without running?

I only put about 6k miles on my truck a year and it’s my daily driver. I had an older Saturn at one point but the added insurance and maintenance on it wasn’t worth it to me.

My TV has one job and it’s not a daily driver. It gets driven at least once a week sometimes more depending on projects going on around the house. My last one only had 44k miles in ten years and the current one is on schedule to be about the same. I drive a company vehicle to work and back.

My TV is also my daily driver. Yes the size can be a pain at times, but usually just as easy to park at the end of the lot and walk a little further. The walk does me good anyway

My DW does not like to drive, so usually drop her off and pick her up from work, so my Dakota is primary a tow vehicle, and a scout trip vehicle. I average about 7K miles a year on it.

My DD is a 2000 Chevy Cavalier.

Bought an F350 long bed diesel one week ago. Using it as my daily driver and loving every second of it!

Vehicles sit on dealer lots for weeks / months at a time, only being started for test drives or for re-positioning on the lot for display...doesn't hurt them at all.
My 2018 F-250 is garaged all winter (being driven every other week or so when the sun shines). I tow between 4 and 6000 miles a year, spring through fall. My DD's are Toyota's.....a Camry and Tacoma.

My RAM is my DD as well as TV. With a 5 mile one-way commute right now, and only doing that a couple times a week it's hard to justify a 3rd vehicle for that kind of commute. Besides, I really love driving the RAM - it's easily the best equipped and most comfortable vehicle we've had. Coming up on 5 years with it this July and it's got just over 50K on it. I'm running about 50/50 between towing miles and non-towing miles. I'm looking at the 2019 RAM 2500's now as I think this coming season will be the last with our 195RB. It's been a great little trailer for us to get started with but we are looking to move up a bit for the next phase of our travels.

My dedicated TV is an E99 F350 that I picked up a while back. Been wrenching on it to get it back to better than stock standards. My DD is a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Once in a while, I will DD the DRZ400 but curranty it's my offroad ride!

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.
