Does Anyone Have Experience Towing ...

about 3500 pounds (Jayco X17Z) with Ford's F150 equipped with a 5.0L V8? 2WD or 4WD.

I'd like to know what MPG others have gotten before I get the big surprise.

How about Tundra with the small V8?

Does the Tow/Haul feature help? Both Ford and Toyota have it.

Expect about 10mpg when towing any size travel trailer. If you get more than that, consider it a bonus.

onthego-- Texas A&M says it as it is-- 10 mpg is about it with a gas motor with average terrain. Even without the tow / haul feature, you can shut off the overdrive in your tranny by pushing in on the button on the end your shift lever, a light on the dash should say ''OD OFF''or the end of the lever will say it. My F250 w 4:10's (due to snoplow prep)gets 9-10 mpg pulling our 19H. Either truck will due the job with a tow package. my motto " BUY AMERICAN"

Chevy does as well...It changes the shift points so I have found that in some cases gas mileage actually decreases with it on, but I get a lot better pull.

You didnt mention what axle ratio - that will make some difference as well.

Your transmission will last longer if you use tow/haul. It won't build up as much heat.

YES please buy American lets all get more people back to work. I spend at least $30 more per month but I make sure everything I buy is American made unless there is no American made in that product.
