Duramax Suggestion - Maybe Good, Maybe Not - But Cheap
I have a friend in the northern US that uses Duramax/Allison powered 1 ton trucks for boat towing. He tows heavy most of the time and runs from coast to coast. This has been his primary source of income for many years and he has had several GM trucks. His current truck is a 2009 Chev 1 ton that now has 150,000 miles on it. During the winter months he uses the truck for snow plow duty.
He just posted on another forum a suggestion to increase battery life. His contention is that rotating the batteries moves the battery that is close to the firewall further forward into a cooler area where it doesn't heat soak as it does during the summer months. He says this rotation increases batter life by about a year.
Maybe, maybe not, but it doesn't cost anything to do it.
