The stats on the newer Duramax LML engines look pretty nice. 397 hp @ 3,000 rpm and 765lb of torque at 1600. They also reportedly get 10 percent bette fuel mileage over the LMM engines (2007.5-2010). I am jealous!
I'm a Toyota guy but since they don't make diesels (yet), I'm stuck with the GMC. I love the Duramax engine and Allison tranny but I'm just not sure about the rest of the vehicle . Anyhow, nice purchase!

Believe me your going to love it, I thought my 07 silverado 1500 pulled my new whitehawk just fine until I bought the duramax!! The first time I pulled the camper with it I looked over at my wife and said " are u kidding me?" I could not believe how it tows!! Congrats!
Finally got a moment to hook up the White Hawk to take some measurements. Going for the first trip to Top*****h/Yakima this weekend. Really looking forward to seeing how the Duramax handles the mountain grades.
When we looked for a new truck to pull a 5th wheel we looked at all the 1 tons...All expensive and really not great resale. We went with a Freightliner "sport"..there are many of them out there used, in good shape and very affordable...and they run forever....Ours has 350k on it and looks new
