You lowered your truck springs ? Did you take the blocks out completely or used a smaller set of blocks? Did the dealer do it?

Was thinking of having him flip the axles on the trailer but concerned bc it's 17 years old and not sure if that will stir up other issues

No I lowered the springs on the trailer. The spring mounts have two lower holes.
There's no flipping axels on these things

Most people do flip the axles on trailers that can have them flipped.
That is probably the best option.

I had the trailer springs lowered to the lowest hole. This raised it about 1.5 inches. Sits perfectly level when hitched. Also, I have my Curt Q24 on it's highest setting. Clearance at the tailgate is right around 6".

Did you lower your levelers to the next hole down to make up for the height?
I had to. I was out of stroking before I raised the trailer. I would have errors a lot more if I didn't lower the levelers.

My dad hasn't yet done anything - just trying to figure out the best option. The truck hitch is mid position and I think pin box was the lowest position and that seemed too nose high. If he moves truck hitch pin up for more clearance he will be even more out of level. Flipping trailer springs may be best first step OR reducing the height of the truck spring blocks OR both

I did not lower my jacks. I'm happy to have a bit more room when they are retracted. I read on here somewhere that a couple folks were having issues with the rear jacks being too low and hitting the ground/curbs while getting into a few campsites."
I just use an extra block or 2 when setting up. Haven't had an "out of stroke" fault yet.

Happy camping,
Joe

Ya, I think the 377's jacks are lower for some reason. Mine look higher and I'm pretty sure they won't hit anything.

So...lowering the trailer by swapping out the blocks in not an option per Ford. There's some concern with shock travel bottoming out (not so much on highway, but through campgrounds etc.).

Flipping the axles (assuming he can) seems to be the only potential option. Anyone ever done that on a '99 Jayco Wilderness 5th wheel? Thoughts? Pitfalls? Easy/Difficult? Should he have the RV dealer do it? He's 76 years old so thinking best to have it oursourced?!?

Your best bet would be to contact Jayco and see what they suggest. Like you said, it's 17 years old and you might be opening yourself to other problems by flipping the axles. Might also be worth reading this forum: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f6...lbh-40242.html
I think they ended up flipping theirs, but its a new FW. Also mentions "correct track", which might be a possibility for your Dad.

I'm having the same issue. 2017 f450 and a seismic 3914. It's so not level it's not funny. And only 5' clearance between fifth wheel and truck box. I want to do an axle flip but worry about being to high. Manual says 13'4 anyone actually measure one of these? Maybe that's to the bedroom AC so adding the 4" axle flip won't put me over 13'6 (legal height where i live)
