Just made short trip, flat land with some stop and go traffic. 24l/100km or 9.8 mpg.
Loaded up with bikes and firewood., towing a 28DSBH.

Just for comparison with a non-ecoboost towing near maximum capacity: My '12 GMC Sierra 1500 CC 2 WD 5.3 (3.42, HD Tow package) was getting about 7 - 8 lifetime towing (towed it for about 1 1/2 years, weekend outings, no real long trips). Towed a '14 28BHBE with only people and dog in the truck, TT loaded to about 7500-7700 lbs, mostly flat coastal plains, with an occasional hill thrown in for good measure.

We averaged 9.5 up and back from NJ to Maine with our Eagle 284 BHBE. Kept it between 55 and 60 - no faster.

I just towed mt 28BHBE from Ontario to Maine and back with my '15 Sierra 5.3 (6spd, 3.42 axle) and got between 8-10mpg. I had four passengers and luggage, so I was probably close to the payload capacity, but it towed well other than around some rough highways in Massachusetts.
For all you EcoBoost owners, and '14+ Chevy/GMC owners, install an air/oil separator on your truck's PCV system ASAP! This is especially important if you tow alot and want to avoid carbon buildup on your valves.

We just returned from an 838 mile trip (all interstate) in the panhandle of Florida. We pulled a 29 QBS with our 2013 F150 EB 4x4 SCREW between 60 - 65 mph. I hand calculated it at 9.86 MPG. Obviously flat with a few decent sized hills (for a Floridian).

With my F150 I get 12-13 mpg at 62mph. That's mostly interstate driving with small hills. Truck has HD tow package with 5.4L.

I have a Ram with the Hemi and I'm getting 10-12 towing my X254. I thought the EcoBoost was supposed to be better. Glad I stuck with a Ram!

A bit apples to oranges there in terms of weight there. Glad you like the Ram though. I drove it and was very impressed with the transmission.

For the setup in my signature:
Minnesota to Maine, and back averaged 11.3 mpg
Minnesota to California, up through Oregon, and back - 10.5 mpg
Minnesota to Mobile, AL, then Louisiana and back - 10.3 mpg
Usually drive 60-65 mph.
In each, there was some "off hitch" time, but not a significant proportion that would swing the numbers much.
Worst was going to CA - through South Dakota ran 5.5(!!!). Stupid 20-25 mph headwind! But made it up in other portions of the trip.
BTW - Ford recommends premium gas in the Eco for towing. You get about 10% better mileage. I always do that when towing. I use regular for general use, except when premium is less than 10% more in price, then I switch it up.

Just towed our 197 from east of Regina up to Yellowknife, then over to Whitehorse. Our average is right around 11 miles per gallon, Canadian gallon that is. Dash says 9.4 average for the whole trip so far, so I add 20%. We have 3.55 gears. The average climbed up a wee bit once we got into the hills. Mostly just set the cruise, tow/haul, and go. This is our second Eco truck.

A couple weeks ago I spoke to a guy with a new Ford and Ecoboost. He was pulling the lightweight version of our trailer. His average was 7.3 mpg compared to our RAM 5.7 at 9.9mpg towing a 1klb heavier trailer. Not sure if this helps anyone.

Buddy towed an enclosed trailer to Florida and back (ie flat land) with his Eco and got 7 and change. He gets 9 towing three quads to and from mountains of west va. I get 16.5 with same quads with my cummins

Is it 10 or is it 12 - 'cuz 9.86 is pretty darn close to 10.... Weight differences for sure, but perhaps more importantly frontal area differences - it looks to me like the 29QBS might have about 10% more frontal area given it's almost a foot taller than the X254. While I'm a fair bit lighter I also have a bit less frontal area as I have a 7-foot wide model. My RAM w/5.7L Hemi is running about 12.7mpg over the last 750 miles at about 60mph - mostly interstate with some hills and occasional headwinds.

Manitoba to Michigan UP (Mackinaw) to Wisconsin Dells. 22L/100km or 10.7 mpg. Very little interstates and many ups and downs.
I bought the EB because it also my commuter vehicle. I'm sure it has better non-towing mileage than some of the other TVs mentioned in this thread.

I get 23-24 L/100km (9.8-10.2 MPG) when pulling my 28BHS and 11-12 L/100km when unloaded. I am thrilled with this considering my old truck and smaller trailer was far worse. I'm also running a 2in lift and 33.5in mudders, 3.73 gears, 6.5 box, tow mirrors. I run 91 when towing and stay below 100km/hr, usually tow in 5th gear unless it's flat and will hold 6th without downshifting. Love this truck!

I have only pulled about 2000 miles on my Eco boost I'm convinced it's the power you are getting it is not designed for the mileage @70-75mph I get 8 that is the same I got with my 08 Tahoe and my 99 Silverado with a 6.0, 93 blazer with a 350 and this is my first ford the Eco boost would blow the doors off my old TV when towing.
