All good points fellow campers! Now I just cant wait to tow without the white knuckles! I was maxed with all the numbers and it was just a little too scary. I didnt buy the camper for that feeling.....

I have to agree with WestTXMed on this one... depending on the towing capabilities of your 1/2 ton (see our sig) and the gvwr on your 29' (loaded ours weighs about 6900+ lbs), and having a wdh/stabilizing system that works well with the set-up, it is possible to tow a 29'.

The one thing I keep saying to anyone with the 1/2 ton, you WILL bog down on the steep and long grades (ours usually goes 45mph without maxing the rpms). Our truck does have the tow/haul mode which assists with the braking on the downhill side also. For that reason, even with our engine size/towiing capabilities, we would NEVER choose a trailer -heavier- than the one we have now.

However, the other thing we say to anyone who has the means/$$ to go 3/4 ton, DO IT! You will be happier on the grades and ready to upgrade should the opportunity arrise! If we ever upgrade to a larger tt/5'er, without a doubt, it would only happen if we could also purchase a 3/4 ton -anything-!

We made the move from a 150 to a 250 last month as well. So far, I love my truck. Haven't towed the TT more than 8 miles so far so I can't really comment on that. However, those 8 miles were a tell-tale sign of what's to come. this truck has TONS of power/torque to get the job done. We are going camping this coming weekend, so I will let you know how the truck did as far as how it handled and MPG.

Good luck with your new truck.

That would be great, would love to hear how it pulled. Good luck to you too, looks like we got the same color 250! Will post some pics soon...

I put a few pics of it in the "Pics of your tow vehicle" thread. I love the color combo. Interior is nice as well.

You're right, however, I can't bring myself to buy a Dodge. Always been a Ford guy and always will be. Don't get me wrong, Dodge makes a great truck and the Cummins is just about bullet proof, just can't do it.
