F250 Vs. F350
Question for you Ford owners. I currently have a 2019 F250 Lariat, and was thinking about upgrading to a new F350. Is it worth upgrading to the F350 or could I just add what the differences are to the F250 to increase payload capacity.

You won't truly increase your payload. That is pretty much what the Ford door sticker says, forever.
My F350 cost $700 more than the exact same F250 on the lot that day.

There are some subtle differences such as the F-350 gets the Dana rear axle instead of the Sterling, steel driveshaft and 2 additional leaf springs. When all this craziness subsides I plan on upgrading to an F-350 even though my current F-250 has 3305lbs of payload.

Trust us, you will thank yourself later and ask me how I know, the price is not too much different and the ride either my DW couldn't tell from the dodge ram 2500 to the 3500.
Do you have it yet? Lol.

Get the 350. Our small 5th wheel maxes out our 250.

Agree with Big1, go with the 350. Don't know what you have, or may have in the future for a trailer, but consider a DRW. They have their disadvantages, but you'll get the payload and axle capacities that you need.
My 3500 SRW has 4112 lbs payload and 7k axles, and I'm way over on both so trying to determine if I can lose enough weight to get to where I need to be or will have to go DRW.

F350 all day long. No one has ever said, "This is too much truck".

We'd need more information to begin to answer this question. A 2WD 6.2L F-250 will have quite a few differences to an F-350. A 4WD 6.7 PSD HCTTP F-250 will have fewer. What are your payload needs? What is your current F-250's payload rating and where would you want to land?
It's not correct to simply say that an F-350 will have a different axle than an F-250. It may be correct, but there are times when that's not true. Same with suspension and some other differences. Sometimes, they're different and other times, they're not.
As others said, you cannot build your way to increased payload. It actually works in reverse. For example, people who add airbags for towing actually just reduced their available payload, even if it seems like their truck can handle more weight.
If you want more payload on an existing vehicle, then you need to start ripping stuff out of the truck. Payload = GVWR - GVW. Your GVWR is set by the factory at probably 10,000 lbs. That's not changing. All you can change is how much your truck weighs (GVW). So, removing your radio, heater core, and other stuff will give you more payload, but those are obviously absurd suggestions.
Ford has widened the price gap more recently. When I ordered my F-350 in 2019, it was just a tad under $50 more than an identically equipped F-250 HCTTP.

Absolutely worth just getting 350, instead of 250. IMHO If buying new, I think the idea of a 3/4 ton truck is silly just because of price. Same can be applied if your buying new 350 DRW, might as well go ahead and opt for 450, and get the better maneuverability and bigger brakes no more than the price difference.
