I have 7K on my '17 F-250 and the overall fuel economy according to the trucks computer is 14.7. That's combined city/hwy and towing once so far. Fuel economy was 9.4 towing our 9K travel trailer.

I'm with you morleyz as I thought the 6.2 came out in 2011 but again I could be wrong. Difference between the 11-16 and the 17 is they upped the torque rating to 430 ft lbs and mated it with the new 6r100 transmission. [F-250 gas only].

My 2000/mile average including some towing is 13.8. The last 550 miles Im averaging 15.1 in mixed driving but considerably more hiway then city, no towing. this is by the computer, I have not checked it by hand yet. It seems to be getting better with break in. I'm satisfied thus far with the mileage for such a large, tall and powerful truck.
