Fixed my Truck air condioner

We were going somewhere today and the ac quit blowing cold air. We looked up the nearest Ford dealer and had planned to take it to them in the morning. It's mid 80's here.

I told my wife, let me look at it when we get back to the camper.

Easy fix, I found a vacuum line hanging loose and shoved it back on and we are back in the cool!

Wife thinks I am the worlds greatest mechanic. LOL

X2, when I was reading the post, I was expecting a plastic grocery bag in front of the radiator.

Whew, nothing like an easy fix. Had to get mine repaired/recharged last year and it set me back a couple hundred.

I wish! My AC died in my everyday car. Cost estimate was $1700, the car is a 2000, so it just is not worth the repair. So, I am back to 2/55 AC.

Ouch, guess I got lucky. My problem was just a dinky leak in a fitting.

I had to do something like that once. AC quit when it was hot, and we were leaving for a trip. DW needs the air to stave off car sickness, and without it she would have to have the window open, which I don't like. Happy wife, happy life. So I climbed under the truck, our old '04 Silverado, and found that the tensioner for the AC belt was seized and took the belt with it. A quick trip to the parts store for a new tensioner and belt, half an hour on my back under the truck, and we're back in business.

Fixed my wifes Subaru AC by replacing the o-rings in the evap/compressor lines. Cost me a whole 65 cents. YouTube is a great resource!
