Flat Towing - Battery Charger/Maintainer?

Want to flat tow a new 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (w/push button start) behind my 2019 Jayco Greyhawk 29MVP.

I'm completely new to flat towing so I'm trying to get all the equipment figured out.

Is a towed vehicle battery charger/maintainer necessary or good to have? Some say they're good while others say they don't do much.

On some older vehicles the keys had to be in the ignition and turned to the ACC position that would cause batteries to drain.

Since the TOAD lights are powered by the RV and the Jeep is turned completely off so there shouldn't be any battery drain right? So, why would I need to charge the battery?

I'm not a huge expert on this but but depending what braking system you have. Some sit on the floor in front of drivers seat and plug into a cigarette lighter plug and draw on the vehicle battery and will draw it down.
