Ford not ready to surrender it's truck Domination!

Ford announced that the 2018 Ford Super Duty will be the most powerful heavy-duty pickup truck ever, with best-in-class horsepower, torque and towing capacity, from a newly upgraded 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine.

The F-450 4x2 Crew Cab dual-rear-wheel pickup joins the Super Duty lineup for 2018, with 34,000-pound towing capacity.

Thats a some kick a$$ numbers. Ford has no intentions on giving up it's truck domination.

The F150 is also the 2018 Motor Trend Truck of The Year!

they lost me when they went to a 6 with a turbo... I love my 6.2L v8 with 420hp and 460fl/lb torque.. all day long.. thank you.. if ferd still put that in their half ton I would buy one... but they went the way of a 6cyl... to bad the raptor had a great 6.2L motor.. put a turbo on the 6.2L and now you are talkin'...

my 6.2L gets the same mileage as my neighbors 3.5 turbo... so no savings there... and no turbo problems for me... him not so much...

This will come in very handy when you have the need to pull a couple of empty school buses with you.

Diesel

I'm glad that Ford has finally found a Diesel engine that will be dependable ( fingers crossed ) after the several failed attempts

It's rumored the new Super Duty will have over 1000 lb.-ft. of torque. Remember getting a Ford newsletter on it.

You can easily achieve 1000+ ft lbs of torque with the current 6.7L with very basic mods, some of which are warranty friendly if purchased and installed through the dealer.

Nonetheless, badass.

You sound like a spokes person for Ford Motor company. Really, Truck of the year from MT!! That is nothing more than a marketing thing that pretty much indicates that Ford paid more than GM or Dodge would cough up.

Each year more and more hype about torque, payload, and overall towing capacity. Unless you plan on pulling the QE!! all of this is absolutely unnecessary to 99.9% of us.

You make it sound like Ford built this truck only to pull a TT. I don't think this is what they had in mind for this truck, its for the guy pulling a flatbed with a dozer, backhoe, or other heavy equipment. Its funny every time one auto company out does another the haters make such a big deal out of nothing.
