Ford X Pricing??

Has anyone used Ford X pricing to purchase a new TV? If so, can you comment on its discount levels and any other benefits?

Thanks

Pricing Formula from the Ford X-Plan Website

Pricing Formula from the Ford X-Plan Website

X-Plan is a pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice.
X-Plan

Ford
Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)

Lincoln
Dealer Invoice + (0.6% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)

*$275 Administration Fee.

Thanks, rnath7056. Any tips on where I might find a PIN?

Does X Pricing exclude any rebates?

quahog-- The x plan also limits the admin fee the dealer can charge, I think it's 75.00 at least thats the way it was in 07 Larry

quahog - your employer would be able to instruct you about obtaining a PIN - the dealer may require ID that you are eligible for the X plan.

It's $275 now, Larry... but it still is a good deal if you aren't one to haggle.

I did find I could get a PIN through my employer... so I went ahead and got one but in the end, I didn't use it because the X-Plan pricing was actually $120 more than the deal I was offered.

It's like Friends and Family pricing... not as good as employee but pretty close.

That's the funny part... you don't have to. The company I worked for before I retired had a deal with Ford so I can get X-Plan pricing. From what I hear, that's true of a lot of companies. Also, there are other ways to get a PIN like if someone works for Ford and wants to do you a solid.

My company has X-plan pricing, I haven't tried to use it yet though. Maybe next time.

If you decide to go for that F150 EcoBoost, you may want it just as a safety net during negotiations (if you are so inclined). It will get your pretty darn close to the invoice price without haggling if the dealer isn't willing to deal.

This web site is by far the best when negotiating any new car or truck. What is does is drill down to the lowest prices paid on any model allowing you to see (true) invoice, hold backs, incentives and what others paid for that model, you can select local, national prices paid. You just print it out and that it shopping. It's totaly free as well. www.truecar.com

I was using that yesterday (after days without) and I agree, it's a great site.

Dad was a retired Ford employee and I bought several on the A-plan which always seemed unbeatable. Now that he's gone so is my ability to purchase that way. The X-plan seems "good" but as several folks have noted that price can be beaten. There are several ways to get the X-plan pricing. Some companies offer it and it is avail through some "organizations". I'm an EAA member and get it through them.

I posted this on RV.net yesterday as an example of the pricing differences but you are right, the A&Z pricing seems like the best. This is just an example:

I used the x-plan a few years ago when i bought my f-150 (current TV). I really only had one problem when using it. We shopped around at a couple different dealers just to see what kind of price we could get ( I think 4 different ones). Two of them actually tried to work a deal with me and the other two when i mentioned the x-plan just said here is the price and i cant do anything else. Of course when i am in the market for a new vehicle i will most likely use it again just won't go back to those two dealerships.

I wonder what the MSRP is on that vehicle, just to see how much they reduce the price.

This is the MSRP from that same quote... the lower number is the invoice.
