Gladiator towed behind Seneca

I have a new 2020 Jeep Gladiator that I am towing behind my Jayco Seneca.

I use to tow 2013 Jeep Cherokee and never had this issue.

On short runs or tows there is never an issue but on the two long drives I have had with the Gladiator behind the Seneca lets say 8 hours of driving the Gladiator's battery is dead. Never had this issue with the Cherokee. I towed the Cherokee from Phoenix to Whitehorse and never it started right up.

When I had the Gladiator wired up and hitch installed did they not wire it correctly?

Any advice?

Did they connect the hot wire to the battery on the Gladiator?

Not a matter of did they wire it correctly, did they wire it in the manner you requested. Most taillight harnesses do not include a hot wire to the battery and that wire is something that must be added.

Also, depends on the braking system used. An InvisiBrake charges the battery as long as the tow vehicles parking or headlights are on. Not sure if Patriot or RVI have this feature.

I have an InvisiBrake but had my installer add the dedicated charging line with a fuse as a precaution.

I use a Patriot and for one of the legs I decided to unplug it to see if that was an issue but that did not matter. The jeep was dead at the end of the day.

The gladiator has no 12v that work unless the Jeep is on. My Cherokee had one in the console that was on all the time. So I had to have them install a 12v plug directly wired to the battery to use the Patriot.

Thanks for the info.
