going from a ford f150 to a chevy silverado...hitch tweak

My jayco is currently in storage
I sold my 2006 f150 and got a 2017 chevy Silverado
Trailer Dealership will re-set my hitch and weight bars for me (I believe the chevy receiver is a bit lower than the ford was)

I have to tow it from storage to dealer...not far...no freeway so I can keep it at 40

I'm Assuming the difference isn't huge, the trailer will probably sit a bit low on the hitch...

I should be ok as long as I take it slow...stay off the freeway...right?

opinions??

I am a ford fan, and this doenst have to do with hitch, but I bet you'll like the 6 speed transmission (assuming you got the 5.3 and 6L80 combo) compared to your older rig, if you got the 6.2L, and 8 speed, there is no comparison, congratulations on the new rig. And yes, it sounds as if you have common sense, you will be fine until the hitch is adjusted

Time to update your sig!

I agree and think you would be fine towing to the dealer. Enjoy the new truck.

I have the gmc version. 6.2 with the 8 speed trans. Pulls 7000 pounds really well. Handles the weighht well too.

Good luck.

Yup just hook and go. Hard to say if it will sit much different- I dont know the height difderence. But for that little distance I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Post a pic of the whole setup (truck and camper) when you head out for the first trip.
