GPS mount

Made a GPS mount out of some scrap stainless. Tried it the other day and am very pleased. Does not block any view as it is below the hood line, don’t need to take my eyes off the road, and it is very steady. The dash compartment door holds it in place (2016 Ford SD dash, one more reason to drive a Ford!). I darkened it a tad, but may paint it or darken it more if the sun glares off of it.

Now if I can figure out how to upload pictures so they don’t rotate!

Very nice! To correct the problem of rotated pictures, you must save them in the correct orientation before you upload them. Open the picture, click to edit & then rotate/crop the picture to what you want & then save. This is a common problem with cellphone cameras & rotating the phone to take pictures.

Hey, that looks great! Good work. Do you ever use the onboard navigation with the SYNC system?

Did not get the on board navigation when I bought the truck. Was a $1000 option. I would have gotten it for a realistic price. Don’t like using the phone nav. The Garmin has a lot of nice features that I like, especially the warning when the speed limit changes.

I tried that on a few pictures but they all loaded up in the wrong orientation. Operator error is plausible though.

As I understand it, it's a problem between common cellphones and the website recognizing the orientation metadata in the picture.

To fix it, I open the pic, crop it ever so slightly (to force a change in the picture), and save it. I didn't even need to rotate the pic if it was already displaying correctly on the screen. Then upload.
