i dont have a "heavy" duty truck, but i tow them all the time at work. i can say hands down more ford diesels break down BUT theres also alot more of them on the road then other diesels. dodge would be next but its useually for non motor problems. chevy would be the least i tow but i think theres also the least amount on the road around here. we are in a big natural gas area and most of the pipeline welders have dodges and fords. i also run into the problem of when a duramax breaks, nobody knows how to fix it, the local dealer just puts new motors in most of the time.
For work i drive a F650 with a 24v cummins and a 5spd allison, has 335k and no major problems yet other than stupid egr stuff. and 200k of those miles were put on in the last 2.5 years

2014 Ram 2500 Limited 6.4L Hemi 3.73 LS diff 4x4.

Swore I would never own an HD, but my kids don't stop growing and accumulating "stuff". Pretty sad when the weight of my passengers will go over a half ton payload unless I want a barebones 4x2 with rubber flooring :/

I almost got my truck with vinyl flooring BECAUSE of that pesky kid! LOL!

Ended up with carpet and carpet floor mats, but I'll probably put the rubber slush mats in before too long. Between the Wondermutt and the boy, my truck is a MESS.

Chore Truck: 2003 F350 4X4 Standard Cab SWR 5.?L Gasser. Bought used in 2012 with under 130,000 miles. Installed dumping stake bed from my last chore truck. Added 8' snow plow in 2013.

It's name is "Montblanc", a French slurring for "White Mountain". Because it is white and you have to climb up to the cab. The running boards and A-pillar handles help, but it is a climb!

I've put almost 5,000 miles on that truck in the past 4 years.

The cruise control is in a box in the shop. Once that is installed and the exhaust system is rebuilt... It'll be the Tow Vehicle for the 19RD and probably the 5'er that'll result from giving into the next bout of 2-foot-itis.
